SUMMARY:Sustainability and green construction in Athens
DESCRIPTION:In the eyes of many\, Athens presents a planning chaos manifested in the endless traffic jams throughout the city and the high levels of air pollution. At the same time\, in recent years the city has been taking significant steps towards the implementation of sustainable urban strategies in all areas of life\, under the guidance of the European Union. \nThe tour focuses on the concept of urban sustainability of Athens\, through its historical and contemporary buildings. A visit to new and renewed neighborhoods such as the Psiri neighborhood (Athens’ Florentine) through the eyes of local architects and planners. \nThe tour includes the urban center of Athens\, the flea market in Monstraki\, the old city – the Plaka\, the Acropolis mountain and more. Also\, the tour will take us to the colorful and special port of Piraeus as well as the university district that surrounds and the solar neighborhood of the city. \nOn the last day\, we will go on a graffiti tour around the city\, guided by a local graffiti artist. \nFor orders

During the tour\, we will meet multicultural Athens\, the root of popular democracy which is reflected in the graffiti scattered in every public place in the city. \nOur weekend calls for graffiti tours\, architecture and urban renewal\, meetings with architects and local social activists\, visits to unique projects alongside the traditional Greek attractions\, the Plaka\, the small taverns in the Pasiri district and lots of music and good food.
