For decades, huge amounts of wastewater from the towns of the Sharon and Samaria were drained into the Yarakon river and with it to the Ridding beach in Tel Aviv.
A garbage dump also operated near the Yarkon intersection, which turned into a mountain of unsympathetic garbage.
But in recent years a great miracle has taken place there. Garbage Mountain stopped acting as such and became a green hill that you can climb on and watch the entire coastal plain and Samaria from.
