The Ashalim solar power plant is a dream come true.
The solar resource that we have so abundantly, was introduced to advanced technologies, some of which were developed in Israel. Many partners were brought in, including private companies, the electricity company, the regional council and of course the Ministry of Energy.
The result is a network of a solar photovoltaic station, a thermal station and a solar tower that together produce about 120 megawatts of electricity. Quite a few.
We arrived at the station with a group of electrical teachers from various high schools in Israel. Near the agricultural R&D center, the regional council already had a council bus and a nice guide waiting for us.
